Prime Minister meets Sultan of Brunei Darussalam

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on November 10, ahead of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits.

Pham conveyed the invitations of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam to soon visit Viet Nam again.

He suggested both nations enhance trade in a more balanced manner and accelerate collaboration in fields of digital transformation, green transition, circular economy and climate change response.

The Sultan of Brunei Darussalam expressed his wish to soon re-visit Viet Nam and took the occasion to invite the Vietnamese Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Brunei next year.

The two sides lauded on the development in Viet Nam-Brunei Darussalam Comprehensive Partnership, pledging to resume delegation exchanges at all levels, boost economics, trade, people-to-people exchanges and pave the way for further extensive cooperation in the upcoming time.

They re-affirmed the importance of consolidating solidarity and unity in ASEAN, agreeing to maintain the central role of the bloc in the regional processes./.
