From August 6 to 12, 2026, Gyeongsangbuk Province (Republic of Korea) hosted the "9th Global Youth Cultural Summer Camp," attracting 50 young participants from six countries with cities that have sister-city or friendship-city ties with the province: Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Poland, Japan, and South Korea. The Bac Ninh delegation sent five outstanding students to attend the program.

Upon arriving in Gyeongsangbuk, the Bac Ninh student delegation was welcomed by provincial leaders at the Provincial Government Office for a meet-and-greet session. The delegation also presented souvenirs reflecting the unique cultural identity of the Kinh Bac region, including Dong Ho folk paintings.

Youth delegations from Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, and Ho Chi Minh City participate in a Korean language class.

As part of the program, the students attended Korean language classes, interacted with peers from other countries, experienced the traditional tea ceremony, explored Korean culture and cuisine, and visited Yeungnam University as well as prominent landmarks in Gyeongsangbuk Province.

In addition to cultural exploration, the delegation visited the Samsung Smart City in Gumi City (Gyeongsangbuk Province)—the headquarters and primary manufacturing hub for Samsung Galaxy smartphones. This facility stands out for its highly automated production technology and holds Gold-level certification for "Zero Waste to Landfill" standards. It serves as a complex for core hardware manufacturing and testing, the direct assembly site for premium foldable phones destined for global markets, and a hub for next-generation AI and robotics.

The program not only offers Bac Ninh’s youth an opportunity to experience and explore the culture of South Korea but also helps strengthen the friendly and cooperative ties between Vietnam and South Korea—as well as between Gyeongsangbuk Province and Bac Ninh Province—moving forward. This is particularly significant as Bac Ninh intensifies efforts to attract investment and develop its high-tech industrial sector, aiming to become a centrally-run city that embodies the distinctive cultural heritage of the Kinh Bac region.
