Viet Nam is Angola's priority partner in the region
Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on Tuesday hosted a reception for State Secretary of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Domingos Vieira Lopes who was on an official visit to Viet Nam from November 14 to 19.
The Angolan State Secretary said that his visit to Viet Nam aims at concretizing the goal of diversifying the Angolan economy, of which Viet Nam was a priority partner in the region.
Minister Bui welcomed the visit of Secretary of State Domingos Vieira Lopes with many meaningful activities, especially the organization of the Viet Nam-Angola Economic Forum in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of the two countries celebrating 47 years of establishing diplomatic relations (November 12, 1975 - November 12, 2022).
Bui congratulated Angola on successfully holding the National Assembly and Presidential elections and affirmed that Viet Nam was ready to work with Angola to deepen the two countries' relations in a substantive and effective manner.
He also thanked the Government of Angola for creating favorable conditions for the community of more than 7,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Angola.
Secretary of State Domingos Vieira Lopes emphasized that Viet Nam was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Angola just one day after Angola's independence.
The two sides discussed specific measures to promote bilateral cooperation, enabling the import and export of goods with strengths of each side and expanding cooperation in the fields of education and training, oil and gas, and digital transformation./.
