Funding levels for industrial promotion remain relatively modest. There is also no unified software system for building a database on rural industrial development and product tracking. Furthermore, budget decentralization between provincial and district levels complicates implementation. Many districts still struggle to allocate the necessary funds to disburse support for the industrial promotion projects assigned by the province.These limitations have affected the overall effectiveness and progress of the province’s five-year industrial promotion plan. In the immediate term, Lao Cai is taking a proactive and flexible approach to ensure that funding-approved projects for 2025 are implemented and completed as planned.In the long run, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade will continue to advise the People's Committee on policy formulation to foster the industrial sector’s growth. The department will also coordinate with other provincial trade departments in the region to focus on developing key projects, value chain-based programs, and industrial cluster linkages. According to the provincial Department of Statistics, Nam Dinh’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose by 34.51% year-on-year in May 2025 and climbed 4.55% compared to April. In contrast, the mining industry contracted by 34.66%, subtracting 0.13 percentage points from overall growth.Several level-two industrial sectors experienced significant growth over the five-month period: motor vehicle manufacturing rose by 40.26%; metal production increased 19.73%; paper and paper product manufacturing climbed 19.49%; food processing rose 17.12%; textiles expanded 16.58%; garment manufacturing increased 9.61%; and furniture production grew 9.11%.Conversely, some industries saw declines, including beverage production (down 38.98%); printing and reproduction of recorded media (down 8.76%); leather and related products (down 2.85%); and machinery repair, maintenance, and installation (down 1.68%).In May alone, the consumption index of the manufacturing and processing sector increased by 5.09% compared to April. Over five months, the index more than tripled year-on-year, driven by a strong recovery in textile consumption, up more than nine times, along with a 14.71% increase in garment consumption and a more than twofold rise in furniture sales.According to Nam Dinh’s Statistics Sub-Department, state budget capital managed by local authorities was estimated at VND 785 billion in May 2025, up 40.5% year-on-year.Of this, provincial-level capital accounted for the bulk at VND 747 billion, up 43.8%; district-level funding reached VND 24 billion, up 11.1%; while commune-level disbursement declined by 21.2% to VND 14 billion.In the year to date, public investment disbursement reached VND 3.222 trillion, equivalent to 24.6% of the annual plan and up 20.1% compared to the same period last year. Notably, provincial-level investment saw the strongest growth at 22.8%, while commune-level disbursement dropped sharply by 31.0%.As for foreign direct investment (FDI), as of May 25, 2025, Nam Dinh had approved and adjusted capital for 15 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of USD 237.4 million. Completing policies and laws in the fields of socio-economic management and waste prevention and control;2. Building and streamlining the apparatus and building a contingent of effective and efficient cadres and civil servants;3. Effective managing and using resources, human resources, material resources, and enhancing sustainability; improving energy efficiency;4. Promoting administrative reform, with a focus on cutting administrative procedures and compliance costs for people and businesses;5. Resolving the long-standing problems of important national projects, key projects, low-efficiency projects, backlogs, prolonged causes of great loss and waste; weak commercial banks;6. Strengthening inspection, supervision, audit, investigation, and handling of waste cases;7. Raising awareness, promoting the role and responsibility of the Fatherland Front, organizations and people in preventing and combating waste;8. Strengthening the capacity of cadres and civil servants to carry out waste prevention and control work.On March 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Directive No. 08/CT-TTg underscoring the importance of waste prevention and control.&nbsp;The Government also established the Steering Committee for Wastefulness Prevention and Control was established in December 2024. The body is in charge of assisting the Prime Minister in researching, directing, and addressing important inter-sectoral tasks related to prevention and control of wastefulness./.

The event, directed by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, was broadcast live on Vietnam Television's VTV1 channel and relayed across various television channels.As a highlight of the commemorative activities, it vividly retraced the nation’s proud and heroic history, celebrating the monumental victory of the 1975 Spring Offensive, while highlighting the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people and armed forces, as well as the iconic image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign.
